Spring 2022 Fanimal Interns
Aleighson Robertson
Aleighson Robertson is an Environmental Science major at Randolph College in Lynchburg, VA. She is passionate about animals, especially marine life. Her love for marine animals stems from going to the beach almost every year of her life and being allowed to explore the coast and water. She has had multiple pets throughout her lifetime, including dogs, cats, fish, hamsters, rabbits, and turtles. She enjoys painting and needle felting in her free time. In her recent years at Randolph, she has participated in research on benthic microalgae found on the eastern shore of Virginia. She would like to spend this internship pursuing ways for all living things to have a better quality of life and the importance of maintaining healthy environments in which to live.
Gina Yum
Gina Yum is a first-year Gates Scholar at Pomona College majoring in Public Policy Analysis with a concentration in Environmental Analysis. She is involved with the Sunrise Movement and the Asian American Mentorship Program at her college. She grew up in Bakersfield, California where her passion for the environment was sparked after learning about local particulate pollution, which led to her commitment to animal advocacy. Gina is passionate about advocating for intersectional environmentalism to promote both human and animal welfare.
Jodi Alishouse
Jodi Alishouse is a senior at Colorado State University. She is graduating in the Spring with a degree in natural resource tourism and minor in global environmental sustainability. She is the President of the Tourism Association at her university and loves to stay involved on campus. Her interests lie in photography, going outdoors, dancing and spending time with her friends and her dog, Blue. Her love for animals started when she lived on a ranch in southern Colorado, she originally went to college to become a large animal vet and then discovered her drive to make environmental changes in the world and chose a different career path. Through this internship she hopes to gain experience in the nonprofit industry, research the interactions between humans and animals, and learn the ways in which animal justice fits into sustainable development.
Joey Cashman
Joey Cashman is 22 years old from Toms River, NJ. He is currently a senior enrolled at Rowan University with a degree in Geography and minors in Geographic Information Systems and Urban Planning. Outside of school, he plays piano and violin, is a supervisor at Six Flags, and loves photography. Some of his favorite photos are of animals and is looking forward to work with Fanimal!
