Meghan Prior brings more than 30 years of experience in the performing arts to her practice and teaching of yoga. With dance, vocal and acting training in NYC, Meghan has worked with modern dance choreographers, experimental and jazz tap artists, and in musical theater productions. Meghan has taught dance and movement at college and pre-profession levels. Her background in the movement arts richly informs her yoga teaching and she integrates influences from her diverse background into her classes. She has studied many forms of yoga including Ashtanga, Integral, Anusara, Iyengar, Kundalini, Kripalu, and Sivananda Yoga. Meghan presents programs for stress management, self-care for caregivers, team-building, organizational leadership and other programs for corporate and non-profit conferences. She has taught yoga for special populations including for the incarcerated in correctional facilities. Meghan is passionate about holistic wellness and teaches classes about certified pure therapeutic grade essential oils; she assists those who are seeking more natural ways to promote optimal health and a balanced lifestyle. As well as teaching group and private yoga classes, Meghan also offers TRE (Tension and Trauma Release) as a certified TRE provider. In her private yoga teaching practice she works with seniors and with those who have health challenges including Parkinson’s Disease, MS, and debilitation due to arthritis, joint or back issues and other conditions. A committed vegan and animal lover, Meghan delights in sharing her experience and knowledge with students and her mission is to teach the tools that assist in achieving our highest potential.
