Jenna Samsel

Jenna attended Appalachian State University where she majored in Hospitality and Tourism Management with a heavy focus on animals in tourism, tourism conservation, and interpretation/youth education. Jenna was Fellow during Fall 2019 and in addition to the projects below, she has worked on social media, direct action, and Junior Fanimal program coordination and development.

Jenna is interested in sea turtles, spider crabs, and bees and hopes to facilitate programs in which children and young people can better understand their role in advocating for animals. Jenna began her career as an educator at a nature center in a South Carolina coastal state park and later moved to a ranger position at the same park. She directly worked with sea turtle nesting and conservation. Jenna currently spends her time teaching preschoolers in Charlotte, North Carolina.
