Aquatic Animals
Aquatic animals are fish, shellfish, turtles, rays, coral, molluscs, octopus and squid... animals that live in water! Some animals split their time between land and water, but here we will be focusing on animals that are aqua-dwellers, full time.
Large Mammals
There are approximately 5,500 mammal species that exist. While those numbers are impressive, this part of Fanimal is dedicated to facts and stories about the bigger and statelier large mammals. Here we keep you updated on topics such as how elephants exemplify parenting skills, how to save buffalo populations, archaeological findings, why Yellowstone has the largest concentration of mammals in the continental U.S., and more.
Small Mammals
Small mammals take up a lot of room in our world. These smaller sized warm blooded creatures range from guinea pigs, hamsters, to squirrels, bats, rabbits, mice, and woodchucks.
Birds
Birds have evolved quite a bit from their prehistoric origin. Recent studies show there are approximately 18,000 bird species inhabiting the Earth. From penguins to turkeys to parrots, birds are wildly diverse in behavior and lifestyle and here at Fanimal we want to elevate our awareness of all Aves!
Reptiles
Reptiles are found on every continent, except Antarctica, and flourish in various climates around the world. While there are a few similarities between reptiles and amphibians, they could not be more different. These fascinating cold blooded creatures have certainly earned themselves a section on Fanimal for a reason.
Amphibians
Amphibians are found on every continent, except Antarctica, and flourish in various climates around the world. While there are a few similarities between reptiles and amphibians, they could not be more different. These fascinating cold blooded creatures have certainly earned themselves a section on Fanimal for a reason.
Invertebrates
Invertebrates are a wildly diverse bunch. More than 90% of animal species make up invertebrates including insects, worms, snails, spiders, and more.
Animals By Use
Animals are a part of our lives in all kinds of ways. They are our companions, they work for us, they have been a part of entertainment and sport, used in science, they provide food, as well as provide valuable ‘services’ to us as wildlife. Here we explore non-human animals and the various ways we value them.
Endangered Animals
Endangered species are at risk of becoming extinct – and gone forever. What's really scary is that the process of extinction is exponentially speeding up. Our world is losing species 1,000 times faster than what is naturally regulated for a healthy ecosystem. Plug into these resources to gather more information about helping endangered animals.
